Many older people living in New Zealand may be diagnosed with a chronic illness or dementia. The number of people living with chronic illness is expected to increase a lot in the next 10 years. Knowing about these illnesses, and the challenges that come with them, will help you use the palliative care approach to support the person and their families and whānau.
